Why were you interested in the Methodist research program in ENT? During my interview with the ENT department at Houston Methodist, I could tell the experience of the faculty and the innovation at the hospital was unparalleled. I was impressed by all of the faculty's genuine excitement to teach and mentor those around them. I saw a clear dedication here to providing excellent training at every level in a truly supportive environment. There was not a doubt in my mind that the opportunity to be a research fellow here would be a real privilege.
What do you believe made you stand out among the applicants? I am lucky to have a support system that makes me confident to succeed. My family, friends and mentors are a constant reminder for me to work hard, be compassionate and be grateful for the opportunity. What do you expect to find unique about your training at Methodist and the Texas Medical Center? For one thing, the collaboration both at (Houston) Methodist and Texas Medical Center is incredible. In my brief introduction to the department, I already have seen the camaraderie between departments and between institutions. I think the people are the most unique part of the program. I look forward to learning from people who are so kind and bring with them such great knowledge and expertise. What are you looking forward to about living in Houston? Houston will be a new city for me and that is exciting in itself. I love to try new restaurants and cannot wait for all of the great food I have been hearing about. What will be the first city sights you will visit? I look forward to exploring the Museum District.
