OCTOBEr 2021 ENT Newsletter
A Letter from the Chair
Amazing things happen when we spend time connecting with others on issues that matter. We see this phenomenon every day in medicine, and it’s the inspiration for Face to Face, our new bimonthly e-newsletter for physicians collaborating with Houston Methodist’s Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery.
Ear, nose and throat (ENT) care has become increasingly complex as we navigate new and emerging medical devices, noninvasive therapies, robotic technologies and state-of-the-art surgical techniques. By combining a personalized approach with the latest research and technology, we can deliver specialized solutions for each patient’s unique needs.
Mas Takashima, MD, FACS
Our dynamic team of subspecialists includes experts in otology, rhinology, laryngology, head and neck surgery, facial plastic and reconstructive surgery and sleep medicine. We work closely with oncologists, allergists, pulmonologists, immunologists and other experts across Houston Methodist to deliver comprehensive care.
Being part of an academic medical center means we’re always striving to develop innovative treatments and share the latest advancements with doctors and patients. Our affiliations with Weill Cornell Medical College and Texas A&M University provide opportunities for teaching and training that are essential to building a strong foundation of ENT care. New discoveries and devices are at the forefront of our interactions with EnMed, the Engineering Medicine Program at Texas A&M University Colleges of Medicine and Engineering. This synergy between research and clinical care drives our ability to achieve groundbreaking treatments for patients and stay true to our mission of Leading Medicine.
Most of all, we want you to know we are here as a resource for you and your patients. We’re raising the bar in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck specialty care with the goals of helping your patients and adding value to your practice. We look forward to partnering with you on solutions for patients with complex ear, nose and throat conditions.
